Yogesh has always had dogs at home, all Indies, and so he was keen to get s dog specially after his daughter Nimisa was born, but it was generally difficult to manage a new baby, work and house all together so it stayed that way for a while. But he wanted Nimisa to have an affinity for dogs, and with his habit of befriending Indies on the road as well as having friends who had dogs, Nimisa was a little comfortable with them. When she turned five years old, she decided that she wanted a dog but Yogesh & Gayatri were not sure if she really wanted one so they didn’t discourage her. As she neared her sixth birthday, she was keen on getting a dog for her birthday and wanted nothing else including clothes or toys! That’s when they decided that the time had come to get one. With Yogesh’s partiality towards Indies, they set out to adopt one and reached out to Ramona, who fostered dogs and helped Blue Cross with their adoptions. Yogesh told Ramona he was looking for a younger pup whom Nimisa would be comfortable with and one she could grow up with so Ramona brought out this tiny, chubby brown bundle and set him down on the floor. The next moment, he was running around playing with the other two dogs and not backing down even when they pushed him and he was rolling on the floor. On listening to other dogs fight he crept up on Yogesh’s lap and looked into his eyes and listened to everything he had to say with rapt attention, It was love at first!! As Nimisa and he sat there talking to him, they knew they had found the One! Yogesh looked over at Gayatri and they knew in that moment that he was meant to come home with them! Nimisa had already picked out the name Findo which has no meaning but which we explain as One with a beautiful soul! Findo came home in style sitting on Gayatri’s lap for the car ride and has stayed in Nimisa’s room since that day and continues to do so even now that we have moved houses!
